Gingerbread Everything and FREEBIE for this week ONLY

We decided to make Gingerbread men but our cookies will be have decided to leave our school.  Our Gingerbread men will be traveling all the way to Rockwall, Texas to Mrs. Beasley's class. In order for her students to determine whose cookie belongs to whom we must pay attention to the details as we write to her class describing our Gingerbread.  We reviewed adjectives to make sure that we write using words that will create a clear, picture in our reader's mind.
Look at these little cuties!!  There's not a doubt in my mind that their writing will be just a creative and detailed.  We will be writing tomorrow.  EEEKK!

Before math today we read The Gingerbread Baby and discussed the kind of Gingerbread house we would create for him.  The only problem was they had to use base 10 blocks AND they had to be able to tell the NUMBER that they used.  Look at some of these super cute homes for the baby.

A little math fun for everyone has kept us busy this week too.

You can pick these up this week for FREE at my tpt store.

These summer Fridays are coming and going a little too fast.  I met with some of my teamies this week.  Actually, it was 1st and 2nd grade......it's always nice to catch up and  share ideas.   We ate, talked, ate, stressed, laughed, and talked some more.  Loved it! If you need to throw together a quick little gift please feel free to use these tags. { click here } Hop over to TBA to check out other { FREEBIES } this Friday. Have a SWEET day, friends!!

I Monday MADE IT!!

Hi Sweet and Sassy Friends!!  I have some fun pictures of some things that I have made just in time for school to start and Monday Made It.  {insert cheering and clapping} Okay, first.......I didn't actually make the bench BUT I did repaint it and get it classroom ready.  That should totally count and the fact that I nearly took out the neighbor's window during the process.  {if your my neighbor reading this--I'm sorry and it's okay} Here is the before: {donated by a dear friend-LOVE her} I need you to picture this:  I'm on my front porch with the lid of the bench resting nicely on the back of the bench (easier for sanding).  I'm using a handy-dandy electric sander.  Super powerful.  I place the sander on the lid and push the button..........OH. MY. WORD. the board shoots across the yard towards the neighbors window. YIKES!!  A little embarressing but no one saw, so I pick it up bring it back and this time I hang on to it....

Good Things

What happens when we give kids the chance to share something important to them?  This is one of the many things that I loved about Capturing Kids Hearts from Royse City.  I completely understand the importance of giving the kids the opportunity to share something good for a multitude of reason but I also know it takes time.  Guess what?  I found a way for the kids to share their "good things" first thing in the morning.  We call it our Daily News and we do it on a padlet wall with our ipads. Have you heard of Padlet? We call it our Daily News but it's done on the iPads and is immediately projected onto our whiteboard to read throughout the day.  And it is FREE!! All you need to do is set up an account.  You can go here to create your own. Each morning I open a new padlet wall, super easy.  Scan the QR code with a few ipads.  The QR code is on the right side when you click the share button.  The kids are now re...
