Oh Me, Oh My!! Long e and i Spelled with y

Hi Sweet Friends!!  I have soooo much to do today but instead of working on things that I should be doing I've decided to blog. {very responsible} Plus, I'm super duper sore from all the playing I did yesterday.  {embarressing} It was a BEEEEAUTIFUL day yesterday, so we spent a LOT of time outside.  We played lots of basketball (at the park -- we can save the trash can for another day) and LOTS of Australian 4 square. -- My sweet honey got so excited as we played, he started remembering all his playground days.  I'm not sure why after 12 years of being married I'm just now learning Australian 4 square BUT we all loved it!  Of course, he's the only one from Australia so he could tell us anything and we'd believe it. ;) (for instance, he is ALL TIME Ace??....that sounds kinda funny to me, haha!) 
Okay, the reason I'm blogging today...........I wanted to share this little activity pack that  I just finished using in the classroom this week.  I'd LOVE for you to pick it up if it's something that you could use.              


My kids did a fantastic job with these activities.  This activity pack includes a flap book sort, center game, SCOOT, dividing syllables, and creating silly sentences.  Stop by my TPT store to pick it up for free.

A New Year...

I cannot believe we are ending 2014 and beginning a new year. I'm anxious, excited, nervous, scared.... Freaking OUT . <-not really. 2015 is going to bring so many new changes whether I am ready for them or not, so I guess I better get ready.   This new year will bring my baby's graduation and life as a college student. Wha?!  His heart  is set on USAFA and we should hear from them in January. He is seriously marking off the days on his calendar.  He has also been offered a paid visit to West Point Academy in New York and will fly out to visit them in March.  I think the key word right now is PATIENCE.  He's put in all the work and now he has to be patient. {I have to be patient} I obviously love pictures more than him. Good Things

What happens when we give kids the chance to share something important to them?  This is one of the many things that I loved about Capturing Kids Hearts from Royse City.  I completely understand the importance of giving the kids the opportunity to share something good for a multitude of reason but I also know it takes time.  Guess what?  I found a way for the kids to share their "good things" first thing in the morning.  We call it our Daily News and we do it on a padlet wall with our ipads. Have you heard of Padlet? We call it our Daily News but it's done on the iPads and is immediately projected onto our whiteboard to read throughout the day.  And it is FREE!! All you need to do is set up an account.  You can go here to create your own. A Teacher FAIL

We LOVE to share our successes and everything that goes right...but what about when it goes wrong.  I'm here today to make ya'll feel better.   Okay, I found the COOLEST little puzzles and made some pretty cute gift tags.   ( yucky picture) If you find puzzles to gift you are welcome to use these tags just pick them up here . Now, this is where it gets good.  These were a great price at my local party store and because they came in bulk packages I had a few extra.  My sweet kiddos wanted to try them.  They were excited about it......yay!!! that means the students will be too. So, they tried them and tried and tried and tried.  We are talking a 9 yr old and 15 yr old...really?! Okay, an hour later my son (15) completed his and my daughter......completely frustrated.
