Kirbys Get Lost...Summer Vacay

Well, we are not actually “lost” mainly because I’m not the one in charge of driving but we are getting lost like leaving and getting out of here.  We are getting lost in our thoughts, lost in nature and wrapped up in our time with each other without any of the distractions of everyday life. ROAD TRIP LIFE HACK: Before we left Josh, Jenna and I each picked 20 songs each and put them on a Spotify summer playlist.  We shuffled the playlist and it was fun to see who’s song was going to play next.  You were guaranteed to know the words of at least every 3rd song.:-)  We had quite the variety….from Metalica to Snoop Dogg to Teen Beach Movie.    Our first stop was Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo, Texas.  It’s amazing to me that places like this are just a few hours from my driveway.  It was beautiful BUT HOT.  Seriously, finding shade was like almost nonexistent.  We actually waited until later in the evening before we did any hikes....

Summer Vacay

Friends!--Let me just start off by saying that I think EVERYONE should experience Colorado. If you are planning a vacation and need suggestions....I suggest the mountains. There is something AWEsome about being outside in the middle of mountains and feeling so little . I think it's a reminder of how great our God is and how small we are.  Well, we needed to do this vacation on the cheap so we thought let's just camp. We are never really in a hotel room anyway so let's save money.  We loaded up everything that we thought we would need and we were off. USAFA has campgrounds so we were able to stay right on campus and see Isaiah. It was a beautiful campsite and it had a ton of family games to play.  One of our favorite things to do is tether ball.  Ya'll, we laugh so hard that we are sick after playing this but there is nothing funnier than watching someone try with all their might to hit a ball on a rope and they continue to miss-no matter how athletic you...

June for the Win

There is nothing better than spending time with people that you LOVE and doing the things that you LOVE .  One of our favorite things to do is ride bikes.  I love it when Josh plans a bike route that takes us to new places.(I realize I say this a lot but it's so true)  We started our summer vacay with a bike ride to the train station.    <-Small picture but BIG FUN ;-) Our first stop was the Channel 8 News Station.  We have an inspiring news/weather girl in the family so it's always fun to stop and see what's happening with the news. She would make a great news anchor if that's what she wants to do one day. Next stop was the Perot Museum.  I loved seeing all the kids there exploring and learning.  This museum is hands-on and the kids are completely engaged. This may have been her favorite part.   After the museum and lunch we decided to ride to Klyde Warren Park and cool off with a Steel City Pop . Have you had one of th...
