Late But Loved....Mother's Day

To say we've been busy would be an understatement.  It's funny because if we are home at least one day out of the week it's considered a slow week.  I'm not complaining. I love my family and the time we spend together. I do have a small confession though...I've been running around like crazy mom that I almost forgot about getting my Mother's Day gift ready at school. It seriously became a last minute gift but I think it turned out precious and hopefully none of the mommas felt as though they were a last minute thought.  Hobby Lobby had everything I needed. 1) 1X1 mosiac tiles 2) ribbon 3) necklace loop (this is not the official name) 4) Modge Podge 5) strong ceramic glue (to attach the necklace loop) Considering I was running a little behind I'm happy this project was fast and easy. The kids wrote an "I Love You" message on the back of the tile and then Modge Podged their picture to the front. I made 1X1 pictures in Mic...

Another Week of Measurement {Capacity}

We wrapped up another week of measurement.  This past week was a lot of experimenting with different containers.  We filled them with beans, popcorn seeds, rice and water. Water day was a little crazy......we pretty much swam out of the classroom.  They loved it and there is no other way to truly understand capacity without a lot of pouring, dumping, filling and spilling. Next week we will learn about weight.  We will experiment with scales and different items to weigh (everything except the teacher is okay).  We will be making our very own balance scale.  I can't think of a better way for a kid to understand weight than by creating their own scale. I made a little unit to go along with our learning about weight.  Stop by my TPT store to pick it up if you need a little something extra.   Well, I have truly enjoyed my Mother's Day.  My little sweeties and my honey have made this day super special.  The kids got up at ear...

Mother's Day Trash to Treasure

There is nothing more exciting than to finally decide on a gift from your kids to their mommas EXCEPT when it doesn't break the bank. WOOHOO!! That makes me happy. Yes, this truly is a trash to treasure gift. This is what I LOVE about my husband. He doesn't question me when I say to him "please don't throw {insert any item} away, I need them for school". He just starts a little pile for me until I have enough. So, my newest trash item was Kcups. By the way, I {heart} my Keurig. I think they are the cutest things. They look just like planters, plus I was curious to see the inside of one. I opened them up, cleaned them out, and then spray painted them. Perfect!! The kids made a heart with their thumbprints and we planted flowers in them. As a momma, I LOVE pictures of my kids, so I decided to add a picture. I added a clothespin to the back of the Kcups and the kids wrote You Are My Sunshine around the sunshine {diecut}, I added their sweet ...
