Mother's Day Trash to Treasure

There is nothing more exciting than to finally decide on a gift from your kids to their mommas EXCEPT when it doesn't break the bank. WOOHOO!! That makes me happy. Yes, this truly is a trash to treasure gift.

This is what I LOVE about my husband. He doesn't question me when I say to him "please don't throw {insert any item} away, I need them for school". He just starts a little pile for me until I have enough. So, my newest trash item was Kcups. By the way, I {heart} my Keurig. I think they are the cutest things. They look just like planters, plus I was curious to see the inside of one. I opened them up, cleaned them out, and then spray painted them. Perfect!!

The kids made a heart with their thumbprints and we planted flowers in them. As a momma, I LOVE pictures of my kids, so I decided to add a picture.

I added a clothespin to the back of the Kcups and the kids wrote You Are My Sunshine around the sunshine {diecut}, I added their sweet face to the middle.

Tada!! The only other thing the kids will do is add a poem to the clothespin. We are working on poems this week....and fingers crossed all their seeds will have sprouted by Friday. We only have a few sprouts right now.

Speaking of sprouts, today was flower day for Teacher Appreciation Week. I love to see the kids coming in with flowers, they look so sweet {the kids}. Some of the flowers look as though they were picked straight from their neighbors garden while they were waiting for the bus. LOVE!!!

These summer Fridays are coming and going a little too fast.  I met with some of my teamies this week.  Actually, it was 1st and 2nd grade......it's always nice to catch up and  share ideas.   We ate, talked, ate, stressed, laughed, and talked some more.  Loved it! A get together just doesn't seem appropriate without a little back to school goodie, right?!  And who doesn't LOVE some Bath and Body lotion??!! If you need to throw together a quick little gift please feel free to use these tags. { click here } Hop over to TBA to check out other { FREEBIES } this Friday. Have a SWEET day, friends!!

I Monday MADE IT!!

Hi Sweet and Sassy Friends!!  I have some fun pictures of some things that I have made just in time for school to start and Monday Made It.  {insert cheering and clapping} Okay, first.......I didn't actually make the bench BUT I did repaint it and get it classroom ready.  That should totally count and the fact that I nearly took out the neighbor's window during the process.  {if your my neighbor reading this--I'm sorry and it's okay} Here is the before: {donated by a dear friend-LOVE her} I need you to picture this:  I'm on my front porch with the lid of the bench resting nicely on the back of the bench (easier for sanding).  I'm using a handy-dandy electric sander.  Super powerful.  I place the sander on the lid and push the button..........OH. MY. WORD. the board shoots across the yard towards the neighbors window. YIKES!!  A little embarressing but no one saw, so I pick it up bring it back and this time I hang on to it....

Good Things

What happens when we give kids the chance to share something important to them?  This is one of the many things that I loved about Capturing Kids Hearts from Royse City.  I completely understand the importance of giving the kids the opportunity to share something good for a multitude of reason but I also know it takes time.  Guess what?  I found a way for the kids to share their "good things" first thing in the morning.  We call it our Daily News and we do it on a padlet wall with our ipads. Have you heard of Padlet? We call it our Daily News but it's done on the iPads and is immediately projected onto our whiteboard to read throughout the day.  And it is FREE!! All you need to do is set up an account.  You can go here to create your own. Each morning I open a new padlet wall, super easy.  Scan the QR code with a few ipads.  The QR code is on the right side when you click the share button.  The kids are now re...
