LOTS of {FREEBIES} on this FRIDAY

Hi Sweet Friends!  My big baby is turning 16 this weekend, so I'm here to give little gifts to celebrate.  Yay!!  You know that I'm going to share a few pics of him before you get your {freebies}. Okay, it's time for {freebies} or I'm going to cry.   { Freebie #1 } This is a center activity that integrates reading and math.  I've included 60 of the first sight words that are introduced in Texas Journey's basal.  The students will be reading these words and writing addition sentences to match.  They are also on the lookout for DOUBLES, because in this game DOUBLES are worth more.  You can pick this up at my TPT store. { FREEBIE #2 ) This is a math center activity to help the kids recognize the addend to create the double addition sentence.  They must be the first to fill their backpack with each school supply (addend). I've also included blank game boards and supply cards.  This gives the kids the oppo...

I Monday MADE IT!!

Hi Sweet and Sassy Friends!!  I have some fun pictures of some things that I have made just in time for school to start and Monday Made It.  {insert cheering and clapping} Okay, first.......I didn't actually make the bench BUT I did repaint it and get it classroom ready.  That should totally count and the fact that I nearly took out the neighbor's window during the process.  {if your my neighbor reading this--I'm sorry and it's okay} Here is the before: {donated by a dear friend-LOVE her} I need you to picture this:  I'm on my front porch with the lid of the bench resting nicely on the back of the bench (easier for sanding).  I'm using a handy-dandy electric sander.  Super powerful.  I place the sander on the lid and push the button..........OH. MY. WORD. the board shoots across the yard towards the neighbors window. YIKES!!  A little embarressing but no one saw, so I pick it up bring it back and this time I hang on to it....

See You Tuesday......@ Instagram

Well, of course, I'm joining the Instagram craze. I love pictures!! Sad fact though, I can't actually take a good pic, so the filters in Instagram are what I fell in LOVE with when I first joined. I'm super excited about this because I LOVE pictures the most. Some of my favorite blogs, the ones that I stalk follow share LOTS of pictures. So just the thought of all the teachers out there sharing pictures on Tuesday.........EEEEKKKK! ----makes me nerdy excited. hehe! You can find me @sweetnsassyin2nd Let me know how I can find you in the comments.   Posted with Blogsy

Five for Friday on a Sunday??

Ummm.......not even sure if this is okay but I'm doing it anyway.  :)  It's just so much easier to revisit the past week on Sunday {Fun day} rather than Friday {Fried day}.  So I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching ....... ...plus 2 days. :) 1.    It's that time of year when everyone gets a little crazy..........including teachers and the things we do to keep the kiddos excited, focused, and motivated.  Would you do the Harlem Shake????  Well, we would and did!!  Check us out.  {this is a video we made for our principal.......we were hoping to give her a better idea of our faculty meetings when she is away} This makes me laugh out loud every time I watch it and although we originally started off making one for the kids......I think it was more therapeutic for us.  We relaxed and belly laughed!!  We will show the kids the video we made for them during our ROCK THE STAAR assembly on Monday. 2. In honor of Eart...

Favorite Freebie Linky Party

During my morning blog stalk  visits I found a fantastic linky party.  Thank you Cynthia over at 2nd Grade Pad for hosting.  Everyone LOVES  a freebie.....so she has asked each teacher to link up their favorite freebie and share it with others.  Great idea!!  Stop by her blog and see everyone's favorite freebie. I think my favorite right now is my Fable Unit, mainly because I just finished it and there are a lot of different activities.   If you visit my TPT store, you'll notice they are all free right now, so please get what you can use or need.  I just ask that you leave sweet feedback and follow my blog if you find something that you can use.  :)) Happy Monday!

Sneak-a-Peek

Well, in between searching Pinterest, visiting classrooms in the bloggy world, and rummaging through the dollar bin in Target I was able to grab some things from TPT to help start the school year.  I've linked up with Blog Hoppin ' to share my finds.  Let me just add that going through this linky party and seeing what other teachers have found has been bittersweet.  I'm bummed that I missed things BUT excited to know that they have now been added to my wish list. ;)  My wish list is ridiculous, though. Okay, first up..........is from my sweet friend Michelle .  She is so amazing and talented.  I love to use books for EVERYTHING.....so I think this next unit will be perfect. This unit will be PER.FECT. for math ideas that first week of school.  Love everything Amy Lemmons does!! There are so many goodies in this packet from Lesson Plans SOS.  I can't wait to get started. :) Wow, my pictures look awful. Ugh! ...

Treats for My Sweets...

Well, it's another Monday and I'm linking up with Tara for her Monday Made It Linky.  She always has so many fabulous teachers sharing fun ideas.  My first inspiration came from Run!Mrs. Nelson's Got the Camera .  She posted a list of rewards and incentives she uses in the classroom and I LOVED her idea for a treat tree.  I haven't decided yet if I would like to use it for 100's on spelling tests or meeting an AR goal.  I should probably work that out soon.  "Sweet Treats for you and me..." Earlier this week I linked up with Teaching in Room 6  to share my behavior chart.  I finally finished putting mine together and I found the cutest little clothespins. You can get my Behavior that Makes Cents at my TPT store if you would like to use it.  I cannot even imagine charging for any of the things that I make right now.  I am truly a newb at this, so until I feel like I have something worth selling all my things are free. ;...

Monday Made It #5

Oh sweet summertime...........where are you going???!!!  My list of things I want to make is getting loooonnnnggggeeerrr...  I truly look forward to Tara's Monday Made It Linky Party .  Now, the things I want to share this Monday may not be considered by some as "made it" BUT you should know that I stuck my own stickers on AND did all my own hot gluing. ;) Okay, we have an amazing little boutique in town and my kids (parents) are always picking up little gifts for me. (so sweet) Well, this boutique has the cutest jewelry gift boxes........so being a teacher, I thought.......how can I use these in the classroom??  Let me show you!! We all LOVE the desk fairy!!  This is the box she leaves on a desk with a soft peppermint inside.  (my kiddos LOVE those)   It says:  "Please eat this treat because you've been SWEET and kept your desk all nice and neat." On the inside of the lid it says "Please return this box to your teacher. Love, The Class...
