Planning for the NEW classroom

Yes, I said NEW.  That's because I'm moving in the building, folks.

I am thrilled to be in the building and definitely feeling a little more relaxed this year.  I MEAN REALLY...

1. I'm not sending a kid to college this year
2. I'm not moving from my town that I lived in for 14 years
3. I'm not leaving my school district that I LOVE and have been apart of for 14 years
4. I'm not closing on a new house
5. I'm not moving into a new house
6. My husband is not changing careers
7. My tween daughter is not going to a new school-leaving her friends she's had since Pre-K

 Ummmm....that sounds like crazy train!
I was on that train last year.

I'm excited to be a little more relaxed and settled.

I like to make the things that I want to hang up around my room before I can get in my classroom.  This year I'm going to keep the same colors (bc I don't want to spend any extra money) that I had last year.

I plan on doing a room tour when it's all put together but I just thought I'd share some of the decor here for those that are planning the same colors or need a little direction.

These are the things that you will find in the Back 2 School pack.

It's FREE this weekend so if you think you might like it or your still not sure what you need to put up then go ahead and get it while it's FREE.

Be Blessed,

A New Year...

I cannot believe we are ending 2014 and beginning a new year. I'm anxious, excited, nervous, scared.... Freaking OUT . <-not really. 2015 is going to bring so many new changes whether I am ready for them or not, so I guess I better get ready.   This new year will bring my baby's graduation and life as a college student. Wha?!  His heart  is set on USAFA and we should hear from them in January. He is seriously marking off the days on his calendar.  He has also been offered a paid visit to West Point Academy in New York and will fly out to visit them in March.  I think the key word right now is PATIENCE.  He's put in all the work and now he has to be patient. {I have to be patient} I obviously love pictures more than him. I feel like that will be my mantra for the 2015 year.  {PATIENCE}  I plan to finish my masters this spring. {patience} I have one more class and my ARP to complete.  Oh, and there is this big test that 4th gra...

Speed Dating or 2nd Grade Letter Writing

Well friends, I understand the confusion.  I've never been apart of speed dating but I imagine it just like the letters of these 2nd grade students.  (sorry for the bad pics...that's kinda how I roll) Ya'll these crack me up. I picture these being read without coming up for breath until you get to the last line -which is the same pic ture I get in my head of someone speed dating. Thank you Mrs. Beasley for being our pen pals.  The kids LOVED doing this and guess what?  They want to write ag ai n....this is AUTHENTIC learning!  Okay, we can write some more if that's what ya'll want to do. ;-)  One of the books that I read to the clas s before we started writing our friendly letter was Dear Mr. Blueberry . The kids loved it and I thought it was a perfect way to start our friendly letter unit .  Our first letter was to our lunch ladies politely asking for a new it em on the lunch menu. Next , we were able to set something up wi...

Day 7 Disneyland in a Day

Okay moms, let’s talk about Disney.   I’m going to be real honest with you.   The notebooks you create and the maps you print out, the discounts and packages and clubs and bracelets and t-shirts and rewards make me sweat.   I seriously get overwhelmed and want nothing to do with this place OR maybe I’m just jealous that you’ve figured out the ins and outs of Disney.   I’m simple.   I like simple and we just kept it really simple.   Our plan was to spend ONE day in Disneyland on a tight budget and have the most magical time ever.    We woke up a 4:30 a.m.—we were a little excited and needed about an hour drive time to get through LA traffic. We made it to the gates before they opened and just stood there to take in the excitement of just being at the most magical place earth.   I looked at all the moms with strollers adorned with shoe caddies that held every family member’s drinks for the day.   The basket...
