Super LOVE

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little girl!!--and this weekend she will be turning 9!!!  Oh goodness.  She has also informed me that this is her "last one digit year".  What?!  I never really thought of that, thanks sass for keeping me on my toes. :)  So, to celebrate her birthday, her grandparents came to town last weekend and we took her to the American Girl store and Bistro.

She said she wanted to do this rather than have a big party with a bunch of friends.  Now, I'm thinking a BIG PARTY and LOTS of friends might have worked out financially better for us.  ha!!  We had so much fun!!  I LOVED watching her face light up, her tiny voice squeal, and watching her run from one thing to another.

They had a salon for the dolls?!!!? What?!! and They brought drinks out for the doll?!!!??  Seriously!!  She said it was her best birthday EVER.  After all of that I feel like we have adopted a new member to our family.  :)

This is definitely a week filled with LOVE!  In class we have been reading a book about a super hero and of course lots of Valentine stories, so I made a little SUPER hero craftivity and activities for the kids to enjoy.  We are also learning to write friendly letters.  We have exchanged class list within our grade levels and will be sending letters by the end of the week.  I LOVE getting letters.  Don't you??  Stop by and pick up my SUPER hero writing and activities pack.

  1. Your daughter is gorgeous! (And her doll is a dead ringer for her!) Having bought Coconut, a camping set and heaven knows what else for my niece, I can relate to what you are saying about the cost of her 'small' party! She'll remember it forever, so think of it as a good investment!

I Monday MADE IT!!

Hi Sweet and Sassy Friends!!  I have some fun pictures of some things that I have made just in time for school to start and Monday Made It.  {insert cheering and clapping} Okay, first.......I didn't actually make the bench BUT I did repaint it and get it classroom ready.  That should totally count and the fact that I nearly took out the neighbor's window during the process.  {if your my neighbor reading this--I'm sorry and it's okay} Here is the before: {donated by a dear friend-LOVE her} I need you to picture this:  I'm on my front porch with the lid of the bench resting nicely on the back of the bench (easier for sanding).  I'm using a handy-dandy electric sander.  Super powerful.  I place the sander on the lid and push the button..........OH. MY. WORD. the board shoots across the yard towards the neighbors window. YIKES!!  A little embarressing but no one saw, so I pick it up bring it back and this time I hang on to it....

These summer Fridays are coming and going a little too fast.  I met with some of my teamies this week.  Actually, it was 1st and 2nd grade......it's always nice to catch up and  share ideas.   We ate, talked, ate, stressed, laughed, and talked some more.  Loved it! A get together just doesn't seem appropriate without a little back to school goodie, right?!  And who doesn't LOVE some Bath and Body lotion??!! If you need to throw together a quick little gift please feel free to use these tags. { click here } Hop over to TBA to check out other { FREEBIES } this Friday. Have a SWEET day, friends!!

Good Things

What happens when we give kids the chance to share something important to them?  This is one of the many things that I loved about Capturing Kids Hearts from Royse City.  I completely understand the importance of giving the kids the opportunity to share something good for a multitude of reason but I also know it takes time.  Guess what?  I found a way for the kids to share their "good things" first thing in the morning.  We call it our Daily News and we do it on a padlet wall with our ipads. Have you heard of Padlet? We call it our Daily News but it's done on the iPads and is immediately projected onto our whiteboard to read throughout the day.  And it is FREE!! All you need to do is set up an account.  You can go here to create your own. Each morning I open a new padlet wall, super easy.  Scan the QR code with a few ipads.  The QR code is on the right side when you click the share button.  The kids are now re...
